LAWN TENNIS.
A meeting of the management committee of the Tennis Association was held last evening there being present Messrs. Beero (in the chair). Dart,. Lewis, Weir, Hogben, Kimbell, O'Leary, Fair, and the secretary. Mr. H. P. Richmond attended on hehalf of the sub-committ-ee (comprising himself and Messrs. Peacock and Hurley) set up to frame rules for the constitution of subassociations. He explained the position fully as viewed by the committee who were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for their labours. . The proposed 'rules, as submitted, were not subjected to any material amendment, and will be further considered at a special general meeting of the council oil Wednesday evening.. The new Shield rules were also gone into, but apart from tlfe more debatable points, not fully thrashed out—this also" being left to the council to do. Several matters in connection with the tournament were discussed, and tho programme, which was approved by- tho N. Z. Lawn Tennis Association, was. ordered to bo printed with some slight amendments. ',
