HASTINGS TRAINING NOTES.
A large number of horses wero worked oil the Hastings track on Saturday morning, llio plough gallop has been top dressed between the six furlongs and tho half-mile post, and a slight drizzling rain, which fell before, breakfast, made the going heavy over this part. Cockatoo easily beat Sir l'ossiblo over five furlongs run in lmin. Dsce. Cork finished in front of Parable over six furlongs run in lmin. 19sec., from a flying
start. Both were ridden out. My Darling galloped five furlongs, the last four in 53sec. Lamsdrolf and Golden Gate galloped, ii mile troni a_ standing start iu a sliado under lmin. 52sec., the former having the best of tho finish. About the best gallop of tho morning was a spin over six furlongs from' a standing start between Master Delaval, Ikon, and Seat-on. Dale. Tho two firstnamed, who both carried about Bst. 71b., finished together in a tick under lmin. 19sce., but Master Delaval, who is very well, .eouM evidently have improved the pace. Ei'l King and Separator got to tlie ond of six furlongs in lmin. 20sec. Ancyle easily held Bullworth safe in a gallop over a milo and a quarter. Tho Avondalo Stakes winner Elysian (C. Brown) was accompanied by Seraphic in a four furlong flutter, which occupied 49sec. Geo. Price rodo Mr. Bidwill's two-year-olds in thoir gallops. Provocation ran half a mile in 50si>c., and Expansion covered a similar distance on tho course proper in Slscc. Bliss (G. Price) and three others galloped half a milo on the course propor with tho colours up, time, Slscc. California v."as sent t-wico round at threequarter pace, sprinting over two furlongs in 24sec., with a beautiful easy stride. Stylish was credited with four furlongs in SOscc. Aborigine was only given light work, as was tho Auckland candidate Master Soult. Both these three-year-olds look very well. Forest- (T„ Pine) and l'rinco Hassan (J. Hall) galloped a mile and a quarter over six hurdles, finishing together. Prince Hassan shows a lot of promise over tho jumps. Oakburn and Commander were sent onco round over four hurdles, Commander pulling up. Oakburn did not jump at all well. Castiglione, Gold Dust, Douche, Reservoir, and a number of others also worked.
