Soultline, who finished best of tho four Dominion . horses was most : fancied, but Waipuna, Sea King, and Artillerie all had numerous supporters!' Azurine, who ran second in tho Kensington Handicap at Randwiek on Saturday, is by the New Zealand siro Seaton Delaval, but the': only Now Zealand horse to win was /Eolusj who had an easy victory in tlio hurdles. /Eolus started in live hurdle races in the Dominion, winning only one. J. Lowo took him to Sydney at-the end of August along with Artillerio. Golden Slippor ran very badly in the Derby at Randwiek on Saturday, and, considering the'race was run in very slow time, it does not ahgtir too well for the future success of tile high-priced Multiform fiily. Mooltan, Maranui, and Blue Book, who all ran well in their engagements at Randwiek on Saturday, are engaged in tho Metropolitan Handicap this afternoon. Mooltan won the event last year, and later on ran second to Apologue,in the Melbourne Cup. Sir; Aymer, who ran second to Mooltan. in the Spring Stakes on Saturday, is tho horse that lias been very solidly supported to will the Melbourne Cup. He is a four-year-old imported horse by Sir Hugo—l'inkeridge.
