The " Daily Express" says that the formation of the railway combine will enable tho companies to enforce an all-round reduction in wages, a gradual reduction of staffs, and the abolition of special privilege to employees. Since the majority of tho Lancashire r/ ton mills closed down, the decrease in i consumption of engine coal amount* 760,000 tons a week. Tiie railway ti has greatly decreased, and many trains .suspended.
