LAWN TENNIS.

The Wellington Lawn Tennis Association has decide:! to hold a handicap tournament at Day's Bay on January 1, 2, and 4, tho programme to consist of men's handicap singles and doubles, ladies' handicap singles and doubles; combined handicap doubles, and boys' and girls'- handicap singles (open to members of tho Wellington Public Schools' Association). It was decided at the meeting that in future a charge of 10s. 6d. bo mado for the use of not moro than four courts at Days' Bay when requisitioned by warehouse and departmental players. At a meeting to bo held on Monday next, at 6 p.m., the now rules for tho shield competition will be considered. A special general meeting of the council has been convened for October 7, when the important question of setting up sub-associations will bo dealt with. The president (tho Rev. Doan M'Konna, of Masterton) has been invited to presido at this meeting.
