A■ ■ 19-year-old American girl recently proved the advantage of her athletic training over ths old-fashioned methods of £0 years ago.. Tlie other night she found a burglar under her. bed, but instead of screaming for help or:swooning with fright, she belaboured him with-her baseball bat, and then marched him off W'the police station. So. drastic was her beatjiljj that, when the burglar was brought before the Court, tho magistrate said he thought lie had already been sufficiently punished; arid if the complainant was willing ho would discharge him. Tho girl, whose heart was.,softer than her. muscles, consented, and the'burglar 'was allowed to go.
