Tiptoo'was the first horso to incur a penalty far the New Zealand Cup. Gleifield, Who won the Wainui Hack Handicap {at Geraldino 011 Friday, is by the Government siro Glenapp. Mr, 1 J. B. Mabin, of Onaero, Taranaki, won the gold medal prize for the best light hunter for tlie season in connection with the North Canterbury Hunt Club meetings. Jos. I'rosser is usually very successful at tho Vanganui Spring and Autumn meetings. Firo ; of tho winners at last week's fixture hailed from the Porirua stable. Welcome Trist, who won tho Hawkesbury Handicap on Saturday, was successful in tho samo event last year. Saga, in C. Pritchard's stable, is one of the candidates handioapped for the Mosgiel Handicap at the Dunedin Jockey Club's meeting. Bon Cyr, who raced in the hack hurdle events at tho Wanganui meeting, is a promising sort, and, with a fow more races, ho should prove equal to winning among the hack division. Mr. J. Chadwick, handicapper for tho Geraldino Racing Club, returned from tho South yesterday morning. Although Probable has won a couple of raises'during tho past month, he has not so far incurred a penalty for tho Now Zealand Clip. As The Possible horse has only 7st. in tho big race at Riccarton, his owner may not caro to race him again before,, that fixture. , Taitoko, Exmoor, and Crucinella were double winners at the Wanganui meeting. f Exmoor's time for the hurdles at IVanganui on Saturday was very good, as the homo bend on tho Wanganui Racecourse has only recently been returfed. and is not at present conducive to record breaking. Winning jockeys at tho Geraldino Racing Club's meeting wero: C. Hack two, W. Hotter, L. Hegarty, L. G. King, H. Donovan, F. Douglas, J. Pino, C. Monk, and W. Emerson one each. Winning jockoys at Wanganui wero: R. Hatch four, C. Jenkins three, H. Telford two, E. Lowe, L. Wilson, A. Neale, N. Campbell, and W. Ryan one each. Weights for tho first day's events at the Otaki-.Uaori Racing Club's meeting will be declared 011 Saturday next. B. Doeloy was riding well at tho Avondalo meeting, for, in addition to riding 110 fewer than six winners, ho was placed second on several occasions. Other successful jockeys were: P. Brady foun J.
