Mr. G. R. Sykes,. secretary of the Masterton branch of tho New Zealand Farmers' Union, has received replies. from Messrs; Hornsby and Hogg, M.P.'s (writes our Wairarapa correspondent) , concerning tho request of the branch that they-should op ; pose the Shearers' Accommodation Amendment Bill, and the proposed diary regulations. I ■ In his letter, Mr. Hornsby states that', ho considers that the Shearers' Accommodation Amendment Bill is largely unnecessary. If tho present laws were properly administered there would be no need for any fresh law. Regarding the proposed daiiy regulations, Mr. Hornsby said that there was at present no Dairy Bill before .Parliament. The Agricultural and Stock Committee, uf which he ,was a member, were considering the dairy regulations, and he would see that these would be issued in such shape as to be helpful and beneficial. / . Mr. A. W. Hogg stated .that he did not ;Ilke tho Shearers' Amendnrnnt Bill. Evidence was. being l taken on the dairy regulations, arid the members of the New Zealand Farmers' Union could rely on every care being taken that nothing of a severely drastic or oppressive' character would be allowed to be pass.
