REFRIGERATION CONGRESS.
The refrigeration congress, which is to open in Paris on October 5, will bo attended by about 1500 delegates from 30 countries, including over 50 trom Argentina. The congress will end about October 12, when the city of Paris will give a reception, for which 28,000 francs have been voted for expenses. The New Zealand representatives are Mr. Gilbert Anderson (official), and representatives of the Southland Frozen Meat Export Company, Wanganui Meat Freezing Company, and the Gisborne Farmers' Freezing Company. The Christchurch Meat Company and the Gear Meat Company have taken up donor memberships. Mr. Anderson will deliver a paper on "Meat Inspection From an International Standpoint," and will move the following resolution That in view of the large expansion of the trade in refrigerated meat and the wide diffusion and distribution of refrigerated, products, it is desirable that an. international uniform standard of moat inspection be established, and agreed to by the various countries exporting and importing animal foods so as to ensure tin healthy condition of the meat."
