Farmers' Union - branches are being definitely invited to join in the movement' to present a tribute to Messrs. Jones, Evans, and Acland for their sterling defence of, the farmers' interests in the farm _ labourers' case in the Canterbury Arbitration Court. With the sanction of the Dominion presi-. dent, Mr. J. G. Wilson, a circular letter-haß. been sent by the. Defence Committee to the branches, accompanied by copies of a testimonial and subscription lists. The letter is signed by Mr. G. W. Leadley, a vice-presi-dent of the Farmers' Union, and has the authority of a resolution of the Defence Committee and the sanction of the president. : ( The contest before the Arbitration Court cost the farmers of Canterbury £1072 10s. 3d., of which £412 .os. lid. was for reporting. ,!•
