The spring meeting of the Feilding Jockey Club is to take place on Monday and Tuesday, November 80 and December 1. Owing to rthe .progressive policy adopted by tho Feilding ; Jookey Gluo, ihe two race meetings lipid each year have como to bo rocognised as"two of tho best fixtures in tho North Is-land.'-'JFrom an owner's point_ of view this especially applies, for tho club n very liberal with pnzo money and makes a practice of catoring for every class of galloper. At tho spring meeting some £3000 is to bo distributed among l owners, and, with the ex? coptiot} of £500 attached to the Feilding Stakes and £100 to the Maiden .'Hack Scurry, the money goes for handicap events. I'lie principal events on the first day are tlio: St. i Andrew's Handicap, oF 400-soya., ono mile and a half, and. the Flying Stakos, of 20080v5., six furlongs. On tht second day's programme tho Manchester Handicap, of i 300 ;sovs., ono mile and a quarter, ami tho York Stakes, of 150 sovs., six furlongs aro} tho chief items'. Npt forgetful of the jumpers,: the club, has placed an open hurdle race: aid a hack hurdle race on each' day's programme, all liberally widowed. There are live flat.races for hacks at tho fixture, one being for maiden performers. A pleasing feature about the programme is the fact that thp'ro are several distance races provided, evori: the hacks being given p chanco. to test their staying abilities oyer a mile and a distance. Tbat this is not a bjid move, is pvjd-. ericed by tbe excellent entries received each year. ■ Nominations for all events at the meeting (except tho Scurry) close with the secretary,' Mr. E. Goodbehero, on Friday, October 30, at .8.30 p.m.
