•• ' -— — ■ Tho Brooklyn Literary and Debating Society held its elocutionary contests last Monday night, when quite'a number of its members participated. . It proved. a most interesting and' instructive evening, and the contests resulted as follow: —Ten-minute speech: Ist, .Miss B. Graham; 2nd, Dr. A. E, Couzcns. Recitation: Ist, Mr. Hardy Fletcher; 2nd, Miss Elsie Eeece. Reading: Ist, Mr. Guy Robinson; 2nd, .Mrs. Stockbridgo. Mr. R. Brown-actcd as judge for the evening.
