SALVATIONIST PROGRESS.
"Official Pioneer of the Salvation Army" might well be the description given of the veteran campaigner, George Scott Railton, who, after touring the world from Ramsgate (his homo) to Korea, Shanghai, Bulgaria and Moscow, is again setting forth on a mission for the establishing of the Army flag in the heart of Russia, if at all possible. Commissioner Railton was tha first secretary of the Salvation Army after its conversion from the old Christian Mission. Commissioner Railton is, not the only Salvation Army officer on the wing for distant fields. In addition to the well-known men who aro marked out for work in Japan Korea and Java, flying visits are to bo paid to the United States by Commissioner Howard, director of tho foreign operations of the' Army throughout the world; and to, Canada, for aiv autumn and winter campaign, by Elijah Cadman, the first misaioner to bo styled "captain" in the Army. Mr. Bramwell Booth is off to Berlin for a special series of councils of war; while the General himself was to leave recently on a three months' visit South Africa.
