PAHIATUA.
On Wednesday evening a social was tendered at Kaitawa to the outgoing Ivaitawa Hall Committee. Tho weather was not altogether propitious for such entertainments, but nevertheless two drags left town, and thoso who braved the elements enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Yesterday afternoon the funeral of Mrs. Murcot, wife of Mr. J. H. Murcot, of Makuri, took place. The cortege left Makuri shortly after eleven, and the interment took place in the Mangatainoka Cemetery. Mrs. Murcot was well-known and esteemed in tho district, in which she resided.
