VICTORIA COLLEGE CLUB. Tlio first annual meeting, of-the Victoria . College Cricket Club ivas hold last evening. Tim committee, in their annual report, congratulated members oil a most successful' season. The expectations of the promoters had been entirely fulfilled, and the mittee felt confident that the club had a clisrtjnet futuro before it as aT college institution. The club, with .a',' membership,' tif; thirty-one, entered last season' two, teams,, a. junior and a third-class, ,but,.it was, hoped that increased membership would warrant the entry of at least 0110 additional team this season. Tlio lack of practice facilities proved a serious drawback in two ways: members were .unable to strike form until late in this season, and intending mdmbers were, in' some cases, driven to other, clubs. This 1 year the committee hoped to make'satisfactory arrangements for regular afternoon practice. All things considered, the committee regardod tile performances of both teams as distinctlycreditable, and it desired to' place bn 'record its appreciation of the degree of "enthusiasm displayed by the members of- the third-class eleven during the season.' - The • committeo congratulates members oii-tlio":sue-', cess of the club in the first"''inter-'Varsity cricket match, and viewed 'withpleasure-itlie. proposal t-o make the match with Canterbury' College'an annual fixture..The. .thanks, of. the club wero duo to Mr'.;G.-F.
