ISLAND •' FRUIT-BROKERS' TROUBLE. An, Auckland Press Association telegraifi . states:—Another meeting of Auckland fruit- i brokers was held yesterday afternoon,. Mr. Arthur Tooman presiding. When Mr. Kidd's telegram touching on the interview with tiio Minister was read Mr. Howarth remarked that Mr. Kidd could not know the facts when lie expressed the hope that that would bo satisfactory. ' Mr.. Tooman said ho was satisfied that the Premier did not know the facts; neither did the Minister for Agriculture, nor the fruitgrowers who were being frightened out of their lives. Mr. Glover said that if the Queensland fruit fly 9011 W. have bred in Auckland it would have been ; all over tlio country ere now. The'opinion was emphatically expressed that it was unsatisfactory that the Government . should require certificates .to say that the 1 bananas were "green and'unripe " when shipped.
