THE HAUROTO'S FRUIT LANDED

A Press Association telegram from Auckland states that the Hauroto arrived from Fiji yesterday, and her cargo of fruit was landed without the authorities insisting upon the production of what is known as the "mile certificate." The fruit; discharged was in splendid condition.-.. , .. .. ... .. Our Auckland, special correspondent states that the cargo consisted of 779 bunches and 747 cases. Somo of the consignments are accompanied by the 'mile limit certificate. The next cargo of Island fruit to arrivo is due by the Talune on September 24 from the Cook and Society Islands. . The cargo is a largo one, consisting of between 1700 and 1800 packages of oranges and bananas. It still remains a matter for anxious speculation as to whether the new restrictions will be put into force before the Talune arrives. On the occasion of the conference of representatives of the fruitbrokers of the various cities, which is to be held in Wellington on September 22, the' delegates will approach the Prime Minister and the ;, -Minister for Agriculture to 'make.'representations w.ith .the object of effecting the general and permanent removal of the' restrictions.
