MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) A young man named James Quin pleaded not guilty to a charge of having been found by night without lawful excuse on the premises of R. E. Wakelin, Gordon Place. Evidence showed that ticcused was found sleeping on a bag of chaff in Mr. Wakelin's stable at 4.20 a.m. on Saturd.ay. Accused had been working up to Friday, but said 110 had 110 rnoney_ when 110 went to the stable. • His Worship said it was clear that accused was guilty of a technical offence. Ho had no oxcuse for being on the property, but he would bo given another chanco, and would' bo convicted and discharged. Richard Evans was convicted and fined 10s., in default 48 hours' imprisonment, on a charge of drunkennoss.
