An article in the "North German Gazette" implies that heavy additional taxation will be levied on articles for general consumption (more especially luxuries), also taxes on gas and electricity, and extension,,of,,the,Jegaoy duties. .. In Germany "amusements"' and "traffic" are taxed ' for munioipal ■ purposes, and there is a " supplementary income tax," which is often larger than the amount of the national income fax. It graduates down to incomes of Mh a year. It was recently stated that .£50,000,000 will hare to be borrowed within the next five years. •
