MOROCCAN INCIDENT. A PROTECE. EFFORTS TO HELP A HAFIDIST KAID. (BI TELiiCIIAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPIEI3JT.) (Rec. September 11, 0.20 a.m.) London, September 10. Possible trouble is feared as the result of an action by Germany in requesting, through the Legation, tho Moorish Government to release Kaid Ermiki, who was one of the first of the Northern governors who adopted tho cause of Mulai Hafid. Other European Legations havo claims.arising out of robberies and extortions by the Kaid, whose arrest occurred at the instance of Mulai Hafid's Commander-in-Chief, after Ermiki's proceedings at Larache had necessitated armed European intervention. The Kaid's nephew, a German protege, was released. Thereupon Germany claimed tho Kaid's release, and showed a list of seven members of his family as being German-pro-tected subjects. Menebhi (a former Minister of Abdul Aziz, now reported to be acting as intermediary with Mulai Hafid) replied that Kaid Ermiki is sololy a Moorish official, and not a protege of Germany, and that Gormany is overstepping ber rights. Tho German excuse is that the Kaid served Mulai Efafid's interests well.
