Abdul Aziz, the conquered Sultan, in disbanding his last body followers, exclaimed: "Go whither you will. Let those who wish to follow Mulai Ilafid do so." Speaking/ to Mulai Hafid's brother, Mulai Abbas, at Alcazar, Dr. Vassal (the German Consul at Tangier who recently mado a secretly-prepared visit to Mulai Hafid's Court at Fez) emphasised Germany's services to tho Hafidian cause- during the campaign.
