A decree has been issued fixing King Manoel's allowance at £200 daily, and that of the Duks of Oporto (uncle of the King) at £32,000 annually; The royal residences at Belera, Caxias, and. Queluz have been transferred to tho State for national purposes. AN EXPENSIVE FAMILY. The Republicans allege that during tho last twelve years Queen Jlaria Pia, grandmother of the • eighteen-year-old King llanoel, has received .£200,000 more than she was entitled to from the Treasury; that at least ,£32,000 has been illegally advanced to Queen Amelie, King Manoel's mother; and that tho total amount illegally advanced to tho,; assassinated King Carlos (King Manoel's father) and his family reached the huge sum of £2,200,000. It was the intention of the Republicans to move an amendment to cut down King Manoel's allowance to. £H daily; that is, about one-fifth of. ■ the amount now fixed by decree. It is alleged that Senhor Augusto Jose Cunha, exMinister for Finance, during his tenure of office facilitated tho granting ot advances to the Eoyal Family; and it was reported in June that he was retiring from public life.
