With tho advent of tho Tainui tho Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company will have the following fine ileet of mail and passenger steamers:—Athenic, Corinthic, lonic, Arawa, and Tainui. Tho new steamer is said to bo an improvement on tho Arawa; her tonnage is stated to bo 19,500, and she will replace tho Mamari. Tho Tainui is fitted for about SO first, 70 second, and a largo number of third-class passengers. Sho will havo a speed of 13 knots, and refrigerating capacity for 100,000 carcasses. It is anticipated that tho Tainni will start on her maiden voyage from London on November 12, and will be duo in Wellington on Decomber 29.
