There was a good attendance at tho Women's Christian Temperance Union meeting on Thursday afternoon, September 3, when reports of work done in tho following departments'-were given:—Legal and parliamentary, literature for back blocks, evangelistic, mothers' meetings, drawing room meetings, and work amongst young people. It' was arranged to hold a public meoting in the Concert Hall of tho Town Hall oil the evening of Thursday, September 17, to conimemorato tho granting of the franchisq to women. Three new members wero initiated. It was decided to meet on the first and third Thursdays of every month until after tho local option poll.
