FIRES.
PORIRUA HOTEL DESTROYED; • At a nearly liour yesterday morning the Porirua Hotel was totally destroyed by fire. It is not known the fire originated, but it commenced in tlio kitehen. The insurances were £800 in the Royal and .£BBO in the South British on the building and £600 in the South British on tho contents. HOUSE BURNED AT TAKAKA. (DT TELEGZAFiI—FRES9 ASSOCIATION.) • Nelson, September 4. A fire at Takaka on Tuesday totally destroyed a house and contents owned by Mr. Robert Cann,_ junr. The building was insured for £150 in the Commercial Union and the Northern office had a risk of £100 on the furniture.
