The quantities, of butter in the public coo stores of New Zealand were not ascertained by tho Government officials this month, th< new seasoa being sufficiently advanced t< render" that\ step unnecessary. It is gener illy understood, however, that the quantify in store amounts to about 4000 boxes! Thi present output of the dairy factories is mor< than sufficient for current requirements, sc that the 4000 boxes may be regarded as t sompleto surplus.
