' MADE..OFF THE Tho' Inspector of" Awards'proceeded against Messi's, Glass and Lewis for a breach of the tailors' laward.- in taking orders for garments not ni'ado in their : own shop. Mr.-' Levvey appeared for Lewis, and- on his behalf admitted tho breach, and; asked fpr loniency,on.tho -ground .that, there had been a partnership, and-Glass Tyas really, the manager,-.but the'latter had .left thoiconntry and Lewis, had to bear tho burden 1 of his partner's ..misdoing.... Mr.. Lo Cren . (Inspector of Awards) , said that the shop was practically a blind, and no work was dpno there at all. Orders wero taken for "suits of clothes which wero mado in some other factory. He thought Glass was most to blame as ho seemed to have full charge. _ His Honour: Did Lewis know what was being done? Mr. Lo Cren: AVe have nothing to show that ho: did not. I think both must have known.. ' ... - ; Mr. Levvoy:, Lewis only found out after the collapse. His Honour, said the Court was not satisfied that Lewis was absolutely blameless, and a fine of £5 would be imposed. • SEPARATE REGISTRATION. The next case was an appeal- from tho decision of tho registrar to allow the Carterton branch of the AVellington Timber AVorkers' Union to register asia separuto union. ■ . Mr. F. F. Sunkel, secretary of the Carterton branch of the AVellington AVorkors' Union, said that his union was not satisfied with tho way the AVellington Union wero treating them, and it was resolved to apply for separate registration. This was refused, and it was thereupon decided to appoal to.tho Court. J After hearing evidence, His Honour stated tho matter would bo considered and reported to tho registrar. Tho union would then bo communicated with.
