Guthrie, Opposition Candidate tor the Oroua seat, addressed a good audience of supporters in' furtherance of his candidature. Ho made a very favourable impression!, on his hearers, and it was Unanimously decided that ho was a fit and proper person to succeed the present" M.Pi' (Mr. LetliDridge) in the! representation of the electorate. Three cheers were heartily given for Mr. Guthrie at the conclusion. A strong committee was formed to further his candidature, with Mr. Michie as chairman, and Mr. C. F. Gibson as secretary. Fitzgerald, a. candidate for the same seat as Mr. Luke, will, speak at the Schoolroom, Wadestown, to-night, and at O'Donnell's Hall, Kilbirnie, on Tuesday night.
