A PALMERSTON WEDDING.
At the Congregational ' Church, 1 Palmerston North, .on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. George M'llroy, third son of Mr. Robert M'Uroy of Christchurch, was married to Miss Bessie Ehoda Toms, second daughter of' Mr. Edwin. Toms of Palmerston North. The ceremony;was performed, by Rev. D. Eird, 31.A. The-bride- wore , a gown of white chiffoir taffeta- silk- made in Empire style and trimmod with silk- lace and tucked chiffon. She, wore: a. bridal veil and orange .blossom and , carried .an .exquisite shower, bouquet..- , Tho,:two littlo maids - who followed the bride, ;Ruby , arid .'Jeanib -.'Williams, daughtersVof /Mr.. J. H. "Williams of .Wellington, ' 'uroro 'Mressed.,, -"in whito silk frocks over which were worn little coats of .-pale blue. Their dainty bonnets were of . .Jace'afcd ; they carried ..baskets ; . of. spring 'flowers. The . chief bridesmaid was . Miss .. Aggie Toms whoiwore a pale blue cloth gown, made in Empire istyle and" trimmod with ■ pale mauve ' and gold Oriental bands. Mr. f..Fotheringham of '"Wellington . was best man. , The : bride's mother wore a tailormade costume of brown. tweed and hat of -brown with violets and ospreys, and - she' - carried a show«r -bouquot 'of-?violets and white heath. The church was decoratcd witl; palms l and flowers -by the bride's younger sisters. Amongst the many guests were '• Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meadowcroft of Wellington,.the latter.wearing a handsome gown of blue silk with black ' plumed picture hat. Mrs. J. H; i AVellington.. wore a .gobelin" blue silk dress beautifully trimmed' with 'lace and fine silk . work. ' She .wore, a light fawn -coat - over this", and her hat .was of fine straw trimmed !. with-pink roses i and forget-me-nots. . Mrs. J. Hastings, sister of Mrs. J. H. Williams, woro a dainty brown frock -with; large hat and feather boa. 7 ...
