PARLIAMENTARY "SPECIAL."
RETURN JOURNEY FROM AUCKLAND. Tho first Wellington-Auckland through tram made a successful return trip to tho capital, arriving hero at tho scheduled tinio of 6.10 last night. Tho Parliamentary party which occupied it was almost exactly tho same as on the northward journoy. Tho return, though less _ novel than that historic run, was more enjoyable. The officers and servants of tho Railway and Public Works Departments had already profited by experience, and all arrangements were carried out without a hitch. Tho passengers also had prepared themselves to minimise or to endure such discomforts as they had learnt to expect. Tho success of Fleot week and the pleasant holiday feeling which it loft behind it contributed, along with tho fino day following a , rainy night, to the general cheerfulness of tho passengers. It was a contented and not a very tired company of legislators and officials that poured out on to tho Mauawatu platform last evening.
