SOCIALIST PARTY.

In April, 190S, the Wellington branch of tho New Zealand Socialist party appointed Mr. Harry Larner as paid secretary, and according to liis report and balance-sheet the branch is in a very flourishing condition. The total income for the quarter ending Juno 30 was £254 4s. Bd., and the expenditure £230. Owing to the voluntary resignation of Mr. Lamer, who is shortly leaving New Zealand, a bi-quarterly balance-sheet was presented on August 16, which showed tho incomo as £138 4s. Id., tho expenditure £117 13s. Id., and balance in bank and^ cash £20 lis. Both tlieso balance-sheets, with books, rccoipts, and vouchers were placed in ' tho hands of Messrs. Sutton and Bendall, accountants, Wellington, who have certified them to bo correct.
