EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
A Christchurch Press Association. telegram states that for the week eliding August 14, 964 eggs were laid by the hens ■' ontored in tlicj New Zealand Utility Poultry Club's fourth.egg-laying competition at Lincoln College, the total to date boing now 13,402. The best layings for the week wore: T. Kennedy's silver wyandottes, 3o; Mrs. J. Mill's white leghorns, 31; Allan Petrie's ' whito leghorns, 29; W. A. Nixon's white leghorns, 28; W. A. Nixon's silvor wyandottes, 28; A. W. Broadway's silver wyan- , dottcs, 23; Mrs. >W. O. Sail's white "leghorns, 28; H. Judgo's silver wyandottes, 28j-Drury and Roso's white leghorns, 28. The highest totals to date are:—Kennedy's ■silver wyandottes, 546; New Zealand Poultry Journal Institute's white leghorns, 564; A. Todman's white leghorns, 451; Drury au<j Roso's white leghorns, 425; Allan Petrie's white leghorns, 416; Master W. Sail's white • leghorns, 410; W. A. Nixon's white leghorns, 389; R. W.
