It is. reported iu. tho Wairarapa (writes , ■our correspondent) that there is likely to bo - il demand from the South Island for North Island breeding ewes. , Interviewed on - tho subject, a Masterton stock auctioneer stated that 110 thought tho South Island might take ' some of our breeding ewes of a certain class. Askod if he .thought that the southern ,farmers had any idea also of importing hoggets from the North Island; the same authority stated that he .could hardly believe that such would be the case, because our North Island hoggets were mucli too coarse : for the southerners' liking.
