NOTES FROM MANAWATU.
In appreciation of his services, Mr. Edwards, manager of the Bunnytliorpe Dairy Company (writes our Manawatu correspondent), has been presented with a substantial cheque. , . 0 supply at various creameries in this district is steadily increasing. Quite a number of coivs are coming in early, and a warm rain • set in yesterday afternoon, which will be instrumental in forcing tho grass after tho recent spell of fine weather. In the Sandon district ploughing is being pushed forward, and tho early crops that have been sown are looking well. Tho area under cultivation this season will be larger than last year. In some parts of Manawatu feed is still . scarce, and stock are being fed chiefly, on dry fodder. • The adjourned District Court sittings have been further adjourned till next Monday. : Mr. S. Turner, of Messrs. Miller and Riley, Ltd., Manchester, is at present mooting directors from various dairy companies along ■ tho Coast, with a view to- securing their outputs for the season. It .was understood that a few companies have accepted tho offers made, 'while some are considering them, these including Bunnythorpe and Palmerston.
