SHIPPING ROUTES.
DEFINITE TRACKS.
(ui TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION' —COPI'ELI CUT.)
London, August 16
The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company," tlio New Zealand Shipping Company,' and the White Star Line have agreed to follow definite' tracks oil the outward and homeward routo.
Tho idea in following a definite track is not ii now om, the Shaw, Savill and the New Zealand Shipping Companies having for some years past had what they term a safety trade on the run to and from London. . This track is really followed after leaving Cape Town for New Zealand, and from Now Zealand to Cape Horn, and the idea is that in the event of any of the .vessels breaking down, or of firo taking place, assistance can be rendered, as the ships bourses converge at certain points. -Although the arrangement has been in force for several years, it is probable that it has not been carried out strictly, and tho present move- is ap-parently-in the direction of having tho plan strictly adhered to. , •'
