BISHOP WALLIS AT HOME.
In the intervals of. the Pan-Anglican Cobgress and Lainbeth Conference, the Bishop of 'Wellington (Dr. Wallis) has been. busy with affairs of his diocese. Letters from tho Bishop show that he has found at Home two or threo olergymcn whom he hopes to secure for work in this district. A minister has been engaged for Bulls, and another for Tenui. Tho latter will We_ England in, November to tako up his New Zealand At latest advices Bishop Wallis and, Sirs. Wallis were both well, though -in need, c 2 rest. Tho Bishop had apparently-found..the round of meetings and engagements very exacting, but was hoping for a lull after tho Lambeth Conference of Bishops which concluded last week). At the dato of writing, lie was busy with the preparation of his address on tho Ministry of Healing. He states that the Archbishop 'of Canterbury told him that he regarded this subject, and that of reunion, as the most important questions which tho Conference would discuss. Bishop Wallis acquiesced in -this opinion. „ , , "Tho Bishop and Mrs. Wahis expect- to leavo England on October 30, by the Omrah, in which case they will reach Wellington about tho middle of December. Archdeacon Falicourt (Bishop's Commissary) left yesterday to licenso the Rev. H. T. Stealey, formerly of Otaki, to tho chaplaincy of the Clurevillo Maori College. .lhQ Rev. J. C. Sjnith, of Upper Hutt, is Mr. Sealey's successor at Otaki, where ho will tako up parochial duties next month. Ihe Rev. J. H. Sykes, appointed from Tenua. to Upper Hutt. ill Mr.. Smith's place, will tako up his residence at his new parish at tho beginning of the new year.
