' Mrs. Samuel Priest, a very old resident, who recently celebrated her golden wedding, died yesterday morning (Thursday), aged 76 years. With her husband she revisited England some eighteen months ago. Tho old lady leaves a largo family, which includes a very large number of grandchildren. Fairly extensive-alterations are just being concluded at-tho local post office,'greatly improving that building, and adding to the convenience of the public. Trade, especially in building circles, is reported to be-very brisk here. Some builders have work oil hand which will take them well on to the Christmas week. Tho sawmilling industry is also fairly brisk, and is likely to continue so for several years. It is a - fact, however,, that the local sawmillers have a very hard row- to hoe in the manufacture of their timber.
