In this ooncise way is expressed tho view of tlioso members of the Chemical Society of Great Britain who disapprovo of the proposal to allow women to become members.

Out of 3-100 papers read on personal researches during the past thirty-five years, only twenty-three have been contributed by women alone. Tliero is a growing desiro, however, on the part of many of our leading scientists to admit women chemists to membership, and as tho wish has met 'with tho strongest opposition from other members, tho question is being put to a ballot.
