'■ The two vacancies in the Groytown Borough Council were filled yesterday by the return of Messrs. John H. Tully and E. J. Raison. ' • ' Tho usual monthly meeting of tho South' Wairarapa Hospital Trustees was held yesterday, Mr. W. Udy (in tho chair), Messrs. W. J. Nix, J. Brown, M. Maxton, A. Booth, It. G. Welch, and M. Ross being present. Tho plans of the pioposed addition to tho hospital were received from tho architects. Accounts amounting to £99 were passed for payment. Tho credit balance at bank was reported as £119 13s. ,7d. . The number of patients on the hospital is four. Four wero admitted and two discharged during tho month. Mr. R. G. Welch was appointed visitor for the month. Three horses have been mysteriously killed within tho last two or three days, and the polico are trying to solve tho mystery. The horses are i reported well-bred ones, and much anxiety is being felt as to why they are being destroyed. Tho bachelors of Minson's Bush gavo a ball on Tuesday night, and it was an unqualified success, sixty couples being present.
