BURGLARS AT WORK.

HOUSE RANSACKED AT DUNEDIN. (BT TBLKOBiI'II.— SPECIAL COKRESPONDENT.) Dunociin, August 10. A house in Stafford Street was entered by burglars during tho absenco of the inmates about nine o'clock 011 Friday evening. Tho family on returning found that tho house had been ransacked, and gold and 'silver to tho extent of £15 taken. Articles of jewellery lay scattered about, but had not been touched. A writing-desk in a bedroom, which had been turned out, contained gold and cheques to the valuo of £118, but tho thieves in some extraordinary way missed this, though every drawor and receptacle in tho room had been tampered with.
