NEW COOKERY BOOKS.

Two cbokery books, containing recipes by Mrs. Hannah M'Clurcan of all tho newest I and most up-to-date dishes that art and tho experiences of a quarter of a century can suggest have lately been published in Australia. No housewife can have too many reliable recipes. at hand, for, perhaps, one of her greatest worries is to bo found in the perpetual striving for variety in tho food she offers her family. _ "With cither of these two books at hand it is likely that much would be saved her in that direction, for everything seems to be found there, soups, fish, entrees, meats, savouries, sauces and. pickles, sweets of all descriptions and cakes, with directions for .their preparation and cooking clearly given. Most of tho recipes in tho books have been made and served by the authoress, and many aro of her own invention. The fact, that there have been eight editions of tho small book and seven of tho larger ono speaks for their popularity. At tho end of the cheaper book are a number of economical dinner recipes made from ingredients within the means of most people. ■ Our copies are from Messrs. Gordon and Gotch.
