Pleasants, tho selected Liberal candidate for Oroua for the cominp' general elections, was held in tho Oddfellows 7 Hall Inst night. Tlicro was a very satisfactory attendance. Mr. Pleasants gave a short address to his supporters, explaining his views on tho moro important political questions. A committee of ladies and gentlemen was afterwards appointed, with Mr- T. Wost as chairman. ■ , ' "Buy coal now," is the advice of Samuel Brown, lAc!., of Tory, Willis, and Johnston Streets, Adelaide and Tinakori Itoads. This firm carries ouo of the largest stocks of coal in the city.
