Mr. Claude M'Kay, late of the literary staff of the Sydney "Daily Telegraph," and now 011 the staff of Mr. J. C. Williamson, has arrived in '"Wellington' to make preliminary arrangements for the " Humpty Dumpty" pautomimo season. Mr. Charles Lepper, of tlio Petonc Municipal Fire Brigade, has been appointed superintendent of- the brigade by the Petone Fire Board. Mr. Lepper lias been a member of the brigade ever since its inception, and prior to that he was a valued member of tho, Wellington Brigade. Mr. H. Ryder has been appointed deputy-superintendent. Tlio many friends and admirers of the Vory Rev. Father Keogh, S.M., 8.A.,. tho popular rector of St. Patrick's College, have decided to givo expression to their esteem by making him a presentation of an address and apurso of sovereigns on tlio occasion of his silver jubilee. A largely-attended meeting was hold last evening to arraniro preliminaries; Air. Martin Kennedy presiding. Numerous apologies for non-attendance were also received from those who wore desirous of assisting in the movement. . A committee of over fifty gontlemen, reprosentativ'e of leading citizens, was constituted to carry out tho arrangements.

Tho Anglican .Bishop of ' Auckland (Dr. Neligan) has accented the Rev. Edward 1 )•. Strong, 8.A., B.Litt., Oxford, for Homo Mission work-in the Auckland dioceso. Mr. Strong's parents live in Nelson, and ho was formerly for nearly three years an assistanl master at King's College, Remucra, and foi some time helped the Rev. Charles,Tisdail with the St. College students when they resided in Remuera. Mr. Strong in also a graduate of tho New Zealand University. After taking his degree at Oxford lie went to Cudderdon, and was ordained deacon in 1906 and priest- in 1907. Ho is at present a curate in the dioceso of Birmingham, and is i highly spoken of by the Bishop of that dioceso. He" will not be able to conic to Now Zealand until next year. , Tho Bishop lias'also'cabled to his Commissary that apparently as a fruit "of t]io Pan-Anglican Congress a number of new clergy have beon secured for the dioceso. Tho Rev. Frank Waters Pigott, it.A., Trinity College, Oxford, curate of St. Aidan's, Newcastle-on-Tyne, the Revs. Colville, .Morse, Fletcher, and Jones will also arrive at different times during this year, in addition to the Rev. Kenneth Toalo, M.A., and tho Rev. Francis Graham Harvie, 8.A., previously announced.
