WOMEN AND BALLOONING.
, As ballooning seems to be growing in popularity, as-afeminino sport,: tho question of attiro for. aerial trips is. 0110 to command attention, (says',the" Queen "). And it is not a-little'disconcerting to:learn on.good authority :that two seemingly indispensable artioles of: our toilette .must .bo absolutely abolished if wo-are to go a-ballooning. First of allthe. skirt must go.. Its place is . easily supplied, however,, by voluminous tnickorbockers, which prosont a by no means unattractive and not wholly unfeminine appearance., But worse than tho abolition of tho skirt is tho abolition of .thohatpin. This means that ong must cither go bonneted or swathed in .a motor veil, or. resort to an: elastic bqneath the'ehin: .On this whole, it is a good thing one has the: placo very much to oneself'-eil haut. But.- of course, there is the descont to bo taken into account. One cannot be sure of -coming down in tho sea or a lonely village!
