Thero were ten creditors present .at a mooting presided over by Mr. "W. B. Chonriells, Deputy .Official Assignee, in the estate of C. H. Gayfer, to confirm the special resolution. The resolution was lost, and the assets will be sold by .public auction at the next Taratahi salo, and tho estate wound up as speedily as possible. ! '! ' Football was well to the foro in Carterton on Saturday. At 11.30 a.m. on the Show. Grounds the Masterton and Carterton High Schools tried conclusions, Masterton winning by. 5 points (a goal by Ibbetson. from Ewington's try) to a try obtained by Baillie. Mr.. E. M'Kenzio was' referee. Then at 1.30 p.m. ,tho School representatives had .a trial practice in tho Recreation Groiuid, with Mr. H. M'Kenzio, as referee, and the . Third Class representatives wero afterwards tried on' tho . ;samo ground. •By this timo the Thursday seniors and Saturday - juniors wero striving for supremacy on the Show Grounds, under' Mr. E. M'Kenzio, Saturday winning, as already reported,, by 6 i points to Thursday's -5.
