Tho R0v.,1. Crookston, M.A., 8.D., of Bcndigo, Victoria, will preach at St. John's during tho month of August. Mr. Crookston is said to bo n good scholar and a man of high repute as n preacher and public speaker. Mr. Crookslon's first charge was St. Androw's, Newcastle, New South Wales. He did good work there, and is steadily adding to his reputation in his Bendigo clmrgc. He is a man of capacity,' power, and tact. Tho Primitive Methodists in Webb Street will celebrate their fortieth anniversary tomorrow. The lievs. B. Metson, 11. Daniol, and ,T. Dawson will bo tho preachers. The choir and friends will render special anthems. Tho annual tea meeting will be held on Monday at 0.30 p.m. The Hon. W.
