Asquith, Prime Minister, received an appeal, signed by 144 of his supportors, for a reduction in armaments. It emphasised tho need for a survey of the situation and of tho figures in tho Budget Statement for 1906-07. Sir John Brunner (Liberal M.P. for Northwicli Division of Cheshire), and Mr. J. M. Mac Donald (Liberal member for Falkirk Burgs) were authors of the appeal.
