W.P. CRICK'S CASE
HE-FAILS ON APPEAL TO THE PRIVY _ - COUNCIL. (ni TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATIOK—COPTRIOHT.) London, July 29. The Privy Council has delivered its decision on tlio appeal in tlio case of W. P. Crick, ex-Minister for Lands in New South 'Wales, v. Harnett, Sergeant-at-Arms in the State Assombly. ' v - In July, 1906, the Assembly adopted a resolution suspending Mr. Crick from attendance until ho had undergone his trial in connection with the land scandals. Mr Crick, refusing to comply with the resolution, was removed, and then brought an action against tlio Scrgeant-at-Anns for 'assault involved in liis removal from tlio House. Before the Full Court tlio defendant (the f?ergeaut-at-Arnis) pleaded that lie had acted under tlio Standing Orders. The Full Court gave judgment for plaintiff Crick oil demurrer. Defendant appealed to the Privy Council. Tlio decision of tho Judicial, Committee of the Privy Council allows defendant's appeal. Tho Committee over-rides plaintiff Crick's doniurrcr, and dismissed his action with costs.
