The speech made in tlio Houso of Commons yesterday by Sir Edward Grey, Sccro-' tary of Stato for Foreign Affairs—disclaiming any intention to isolate Germany—gavo general satisfaction on the Stock Exchange and Berlin Bourse. Gorman and French newspapers approve tho sentiments expressed.. The Labour, Party's cxecutivo invites German workmen to co-operate in defeating the war propaganda and the practice of spreading unfriendly suspicions; and urges them to assist in ail effort to secure permanent good relations between Germany and Great Britain.' In a letter to "The Times" referring to his speech cabled yesterday, the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr. Lloyd-George) denies that lio assailed tho two-Power Standard, to which tho Govornment is, ho states, committed. Mr. Lloyd-Gcorge declares that ho contended that nervousness oil tho part of Germany was loss blameworthy than was nervousness on tho part of Britain, since Gormany had no such standard for her army.
