Mr. Churchill, President of the Board of Trade, claimed that tho demonstration proved that the Bill was supported' by the great masses of the people. There were. 120 speakers upon 20 platforms. They included Sir Thomas "Whittaker (Liberal M.P. for Spen Yalloy Division of York, and an active tomporance reformer), Mr. "Will Crooks (Labour M.P. for Woolwich), Mr. Arthur Henderson (Labour M.P. for Barnard Castle Division of Durham, and chairman of the Labour Party), and Dr. Clifford (tho iwoll-known Nonconformist divine).
